I think that the book The Great Gasby should be tought in the Yeshivah.
Reason #1) The purpose of a Yeshivah is to gain knowledge and insight on religouse and secular topics so you can ditinguish between them.
Topic Sentence)we are living in a secular world and when we go out into the world it is very important for us to have some insight on other cultures and lifestyles of different types of people.
Example) In the Great Gasby it shows the way women dressed and acted at parties. We as the next jewish generation should know about these types of behaviors so we have an idea of what is and isn't appropriate.
Reason#2) In highschool alcohol is greatly dicouraged and it is good for us to see the effects of alcohol in other types of sources other than lectures. Books and videos are other good ways to learn about them because I think it would make a bigger impact on us.
topic sentence) The use of alcohol is very populaer among highschool students. The school should try to discourage this. I think a more affective way to get this messagfe across to us is if they used books or vidoes.
Example) In the book during Gasby's party everyone was getting drunk and out of control. Women were acting in a more showy manor and some were even falling off their chairs. This showed unclassiness and imodesty wich digrates women's status in the world. This is a great example that the school should use to show us what we would look like if we abused the usage of alcohol.

Teaching literature in a Yeshiva is important in many ways. The point of a Yeshiva is to teach Jewish students both religious and secular affairs. The whole purpose is to teach us both worlds so we know how to differentiate between them. Students should have some knowledge of the secular world which they live in. So the purpose of teaching literature in school is to give us knowledge of the secular life and to enhance our reading and writing skills. Also it's to prepare the students for college which literature is a very important asset.

I think that Abigail is the most interesting character in the book." I look for John Proctor that took me from my sleep and put knowledge in my heart! I never knew what pretense Salem was, I never knew the lying lessons I was taught by all these Christian women and their covenanted men! And now you bid me tear the light out of my eyes? I will not, I cannot! You loved me, John Proctor, and whatever sin it is, you love me yet!" After everything she has done to ruin John Proctor's life and his wife, Abigail stills believes that John wants her and he will forgive her for everything that she has done. What is she thinking!" I want to open myself! . . . I want the light of God, I want the sweet love of Jesus! I danced for the Devil; I saw him, I wrote in his book; I go back to Jesus; I kiss His hand. I saw Sarah Good with the Devil! I saw Goody Osburn with the Devil! I saw Bridget Bishop with the Devil!" Abigail shows in this quote and she was so absorebed in lying and she didnt want to get the blame on anything so she blames it on someone else.

This symbolizes abigail because throughout the book Abigail is the cause for so many deaths. When she accuses someone of doing witchcraft they end up being hung. Because of Abigail so many inocent people died. She was like the symbol of death if you got to close to her then she would tell on you and you would die.

I do not agree with some things that the Puritan people do but they do have some pity and strongly believe in god like I do. Hopefully these people will not turn against me.

This picture really sums up my perspective on life. I chose this picture because i think that i live my life like a maze trying to acomplish goals. Their are times where i'm lost and confused not having any clue of which way to turn. Sometimes i take the wrong path but after i learn from my mistake. I try to change it and go in the direction of the right path. I am the type of person that will never give up because if i do then i'll be stuck and not acomplish anything. Just like a maze has many routs you can take not all of them will lead you to the way out. During my life i expirienced many different things that gave me more sense of what path to take and hopefully I will come out in the end with a goal acomplished.
